National and State Housing Agreements and Reports
This section contains publications documenting agreements which provide strategic direction for the provision of housing assistance at national and state levels.
The National Affordable Housing Agreement commenced on 1 January 2009 and provides a framework for governments to work together to improve housing affordability, reduce homelessness, and reduce Indigenous housing disadvantage.
The National Affordable Housing Agreement replaces the Commonwealth State Housing Agreement and the Queensland Indigenous Housing and Infrastructure Agreement 2005-2008.
National Social Housing Surveys
All State housing authorities report annually to the Australian Government on data and performance indicators endorsed under the agreement. These results are available publicly at the
Australian Institute of Health and Welfare website.
Report on Government Services
The performance indicators for public housing, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing rental program, and community housing are also reported in the
Housing chapter of the annual Report on Government Services.
