Final Report 1 July 2008 – 26 March 2009
Following machinery–of–Government changes implemented on 26 March 2009, the Department of Housing was abolished with its core functions transitioning to the
Department of Communities. This report outlines the activities and achievements of the former Department of Housing, and the structure and operations of the department as at 26 March 2009.
Annual Report 2007-08
In 2007-08, the department continued to respond to housing need by increasing the housing services provided to low-income households, assisting households to remain in the private housing market, and helping build sustainable communities.
Annual Report 2006-07
The 2006-07 year has been an important period of development as the department continued to transform the social housing system in Queensland. The department’s key performance during the past year is highlighted in the report as well as its future direction.

In 2003-04, the department began working under Queensland’s new Housing Act 2003. This report demonstrates how the department, through its more flexible legislative base, is establishing new foundations that provide for innovative solutions to address housing need.
