Remote Indigenous Housing and Homelessness Programs
Toni Malamoo, Executive Director Remote Indigenous Housing and Homelessness Programs, engages in ways to improve housing outcomes in discrete Indigenous communities.
The Department of Communities (Housing and Homelessness Services) Remote Indigenous Housing and Homelessness Programs (formerly known as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing) aim to improve access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to secure, affordable and appropriate housing throughout Queensland.
This is achieved through:
- providing targeted rental housing
- providing funding to Deed of Grant in Trust communities for the delivery of community housing
- developing housing management capacity within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Councils and organisations.
