Private Housing Support

Private Housing Support aims to influence the broader housing system towards increasing the supply of affordable housing and to assist low income households to access and maintain accommodation in the private market.
To achieve these aims, Private Housing Support:
- undertakes ongoing research into the private market to inform the development of new private housing policy and products and refine existing products;
- provides advice to the private sector in relation to affordable housing;
- explores new models of affordable housing delivery in partnership with the private sector; and
- continues to influence the planning system with local authorities and identify potential development opportunities on government surplus land.
